Super Speech Day
It was the end of an era as the Park community came together on Speech Day recently to celebrate the closing of the academic year and to say a fond farewell to Headteacher Mrs. Dowler.
With the whole school assembled at the Salvation Army Hall, the children, their families and teaching staff were treated to music recitals, presentations and speeches to close the year and to wish our Year 6 children the best of luck for the next stage of their education. All the children’s achievements were celebrated with special awards for academic excellence and contributions across the subjects.
During the event, the audience were treated to performances by the School Choir, the School Orchestra, the String Group (pictured) and the Recorder Ensemble. The highlight of the occasion was when the school surprised Mrs. Dowler with their own version of, 'A Million Dreams' when there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
In her speech, Mrs. Dowler fondly recalled some of the highlights of her leadership tenure at Park and told the families and children how her children had loved being at Park too. It was a morning full of smiles and happy tears as Mrs. Dowler prepared to hand the reins over to Mrs. Cattani who will lead the school in the autumn term before Mrs. Ward joins Park as Headteacher in January.
